My '95 M900 has developed an intermittent fault: it occasionally seems to run out of fuel (no misfire, just a total lack of power) even though it hasn't, but then clears if revved hard. It mostly seems to happen after "spirited riding" and/or sustained downhill braking, and to me the symptoms suggest inadequate fuel flow.
I've checked the fuel-tank cap vent & pipe, which is OK, and the fuel filter looks OK (I will change it anyway). Has anyone had problems with the vacuum-operated fuel-pump itself (there's no airleak in the vacuum pipe)?
I'm reluctant to strip the carbs until I've eliminated virtually everything else....
