Has any one done a straight bar conversion?

Was thinking about this last nite. making em a little big longer aswell. would there be any implications that i cant see or pretty simple. would make the ride a bit more mean looking i think.

The key thing is to check how much slack you have on the throttle, brake and clutch cables/hoses, plus electrics to switchgear... the if the bars are too long, it's gonna be a real pain (and potential cost) to replace.

Sorry to hijack the thread,

Hey Jerry,

Where did you get the japanese yokes from, did you get them in Thailand, do you know if you can get them in UK?

What is the width of the yoshimura like compared to say, Renthal?

cheers
Ben

I got that stuff for the S4 in Thailand , have not sen it in UK, the Yoshimura bars are very stiff and a little narrower than Renthals but the handling and comfort was much improved over the standard S4 bars , no flex etc

I tried to fit flat bars - first thing was they didn't clear the fork tube tops, so I fitted extenders to raise the rear so I could raise the forks to keep things even. Increased ground clearance was a bonus, but after all that the brake and clutch hoses weren't long enough or at the right angle so I gave up for a bit... After my recent road/straw bale mods I have some other stuff to sort out before going back to the bars......
