I have had this bike a year (2001 S4) and have had nothing but problems with it, its great:cry:

Took the bike for its MOT on Saturday and it failed. The bike was fine prior to setting off as I tested all the lights, indicators etc.

Problem - When I turn the key to start the bike, sometimes the lights, horn, brake lights etc will work and others times nothing works but the bike will start.

I have checked the fuses they all seem fine and I have replaced a coroded connector on the back light.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

As Katana says, check the earth connection. It's under the battery holder on my M900, and looked lovely and rusted and white. A bit of cleaning and all the electrickery components came back on and now all is well :D

Thanks for the info guys, I will have a look tonight and see what I can do. Unfortunately not much of a bike DIYer but I do try.
I may come back to the thread if that doesn't work as no doubt a dealer would charge the EARTH! to find the fault. Thanks again.
