... that's the only way to desribe the Hypermotard!!

Those nice chaps at Moto Rapido let me be the first customer to demo the 1100S Hypermotard today (already showing signs of being leant oover too far!!) and by jiggery it's an absolute hoot!

The motor is very sweet with plenty of grunt to lift the front wheel in 1st and 2nd gears and the chassis is flipping amazing, very flickable and staggering grip from the Diablo Corsa 3s. Brakes are as per the 1098 and make you feel like you're gonna fall over the front when giving them a good squeeze. Suspension is excelent too, with massive front forks giving very precise road placement.

The dash is pretty funky too, nice little all digital LCD affair and it's the first duke I've ridden with mirrors that actually show you whats behind you rather than your elbows. Mind you, filtering with then could be interesting.

Overall a top piece of kit, a real tool for hooliganing on!! I rather think this may be added to my possible shopping list....

Ped

PS Hey Rog, you'll not be disappointed!!

Hehe, it's all he talks about Ped!

Chris from Moto Rapido called him last night to talk about booking a demo ride, and he said "it's the most fun bike I've ever ridden". He also mentioned the brakes, saying that even the rear brake works!

The KTM is all supermoto'd up for tomorrow, just to get everyone in the mood. Even I've been known to have a bit of a hoon on that... Believe me, if there's any way I can fit on the HM, I will be riding it (may have to lock Rog up first though)

Watch out in the Winchester area on Wednesday afternoon...

I hope Rog has got long legs - I'm 31 inch inside length and I can't get both heels down, only my toes!!

Er no, he doesn't!

As long as he can get one foot down, he'll be happy. Just like his KTM really.

Must be good if Pedro can get round a left-hander without going straight on.

Always good for a laugh following Boozy n Pedro - you never know what'll happen next

Needs cans or a race pipe I think Rog, nice but a little muted. Stay clear of Craig, he has the accessories catalogue and there are altogether too many nice things in it.

I just popped down to Moto Rapido and saw it in the flesh - a great looking bike and although it's quite high I could touch the floor with one foot and there's an inch or so that could be shaved off the seat.

I think I'm going to be taking a demo!

Anyone want to buy a mint S2R800? ;)

Hey Ped

I am surprised they let you on it......did you blow the suspension? Did you break it before anyone else got a ride on it?

I rode one today!!

Took one out for about an hour from Moto Rapido.

what a machine - everything is great. Engine, handling and oh my god the brakes. It seems you can approach any bend at any speed and the blood thing will get round it.

Propper license looser.

The exhaust note isn't that great with the standard cans, but I've ordered the termi kit, so that should sort that out.

delivery time 2-3 weeks - which will problably turn out to be the longest of my life..

oh and absolutely no problems with the seat height. I'm 5"8 with little legs, yes I can only get my toes down, but its so light I never felt unstable when coming to a stop.

they've given me a copy of the Hypermotard accessories catalogue, sarah better hide it!

Ooh I am so jealous - I haven't had chance to ride it yet.
I can't imagine your legs are any longer than mine

Accessories..............

open clutch
termis
clutch master cylinder
steering damper
teflon sliders
billet footpegs

guess who else has been studying the catalogue

SazzaG

Accessories....

Termis - already ordered & will be fitted before collection (the end pipes, not the race system)
Open clutch - of course
Master cylinder - if we fit new springs
Steering damper - possibly
Teflon sliders & billet footpegs - most probably

I may have to confiscate the catalogue. Unfortunately, I can't tonight, as Rog is away from home, and has it with him (a kind of porn, I suppose)
He has got his eye on the very nice Motard Tex Jacket
Oh, and the soft luggage, and various carbon bits........

LOL

Andy has been away at Le Mans for a few days and, on his return he has been bombarded with details of the Hypermotard.

My theory is that if he can go and blow the price of a small house on a car (Audi R8) I am definitely entitled to a hypermotard.

I might be pushing it with the accessories though, as I've already had 2 new bikes in the last year.

Mand

okay so you buy the bike..... don't you think you deserve a new helmet, new leathers, new boots to finish off the look? :mand:

Going to definitely sell the BMW for this one - anyone want to buy an f650 GS???

How come your getting one so quick??

have you gone for the "S" and some other bling?

singletrack
24-06-2007, 01:24 PM
Yes Rachel - both Monsters are going. I will be sorry to see mine go, but I much prefer the ride of the hypermotard, and I can still bling it up.

Roger - I am getting my bike from Snells - I fell in love with it at the intro day and put my name down for it then, pending a test ride, which I had yesterday - What fun!
They happen to have had 2 delivered this week so hopefully it will be ready to collect next weekend.

I have gone for the S - and am trying to sell my soul so I can order some termis.
