Most expensive first. Do you get what you pay for in this instance?

I assume I will need a fitting kit - What will I require?

Yep for the fitting kit which will be two metal brackets and some bolts.

I think with those three you'll get what you pay for, trouble is i think you need to get the right one for the year of bike. They made a change to the seat around 1999 with some other little changes, im not sure if the cowl was one of them???

Just out of interest have you got a price from Ducati direct? i've been quite surprised how cheap somethings can be, give Craig at MotoRapido a ring on 01962877996 see what he can do on a cowl+brackets, he usually gives 10% discount for club members too

No, but I shall :)

Mine is a 2001 m600 dark - Perhaps someone is able to clarify any differences for me?

Thanks for Craigs number.

Do you have any idea how much it might cost to get it spray painted in a matte black colour? After all the work done on yours I thought I would ask although its a fairly open question.

Cheers Andy

yeah and left handed too, which is flipin hard work!!!!

shouldn't cost too much to spray at all as matt black is kinda half a proper paint job as there's no clear coat, the tricky bit will be finding a little paint shop to do a small job like one seat cowl, maybe someone local to you can recommend somewhere

Well Bad-Yeti mentioned something about this a couple of days ago offering free painting of small bits. Pm'ed his good self but never heard back. Akin to vicious white bunnies with 'a mean streak a mile wide', everyone went for the free paiting jugular that Yeti had exposed, leaving him no other choice but to RUN AWAY!

When i was last at the factory talking to someone i was told that the only part that fits ALL monsters is the rear seat cover. certainly doesnt seem much difference from the s4rs to the 600 1994 monnie, but then she does have a later seat on her.

The last one is from Ricambi-Weis. I use them for the 916 bodywork for my DD bike. It will take about 2 weeks for your Paypal payment to clear, and then 3 days for it to arrive. They are a reliable company. Their products are not bad, and rather cheap, and very suitable for a track bike, but I'm not sure I would want to use their stuff on my pride and joy. Like I said, it's not bad stuff, just not wonderful. I know some people on the DSC site have had issues getting body panels to line up. I've had no real issues but it could be slightly better and many of the DD'ers use their stuff.
Don't know about the others but I wouldn't be surprised if an original part is not that expensive.

I must admit to being quite overcome with emotion. If only everyone asked my permission to bid in an auction, just to double check that I dont *really* want to win it first. Alas, I am a simple boy after a simple cowl, but I nod my helmet in your general direction for your kind consideration. Bid on McDuff, Bid on...

Kato, thanks for posting that link mate. See you Wednesday night if the weather gods are feeling generous?

I had my suspicions that the quality may leave something to be desired..I shall hang on a minute and see if I cant get my grubby mitts on a genuine 2nd Hander...

I really like it but alas I must resist as I've spent far to much on bike porn this month already:thumbsdown:

The seat cowl on your 600 is from an S4R. When i bought it , it didnt have a seat cowl and a mate sold me his from his S4R - The seat is also new Tigerlillys in fact.

so are the side panels - paranoid daves...
Indicators and tail (which i think is chopped now) were originaly from JMo's bike - ironically . Well the tail was Gary T's and indicators from JMo.

The screen was from Chris Woods from here....
