Was nearly shaken out of bed this morning. Kids came flying upstairs to ask why their PCs had died and the power gone off and why the house was shaking.

Neighbours in the street in various states of undress, all sorts of speculation about bombs etc. Fire brigade and other emergency services all over the shop. A deathly calm immediately after the tremor except for every bugger in the streets car alarms kicking off. We had no electricity for about an hour and friends from as far afield as Dublin were texting me to tell me what was happening and find out if Chez Brief had crashed down around my ears.

Fortunately no damage or owt but it was a very weird awakening for me and it completely screwed up my Saturday morning lie in. :thumbsdown:
