When the fuel warning light comes on, it starts to count in KM's. I've got no idea how many it will say before you are on fumes! Anyone know ? How long have I got? in miles ?:worried:

I stick to the 160kms and fill up rule (100 miles). I try not to get into the reserve light malarkey too much. Never trust the little gizmos myself

Mine did 22 miles before it spluttered to a halt.
You should get a few more if you nurse it though.

Only three litres left in the tank, so at the advertised 50mpg (1 gallon being 4.5litres), you'll get about 30miles (depending on how and where you ride). Basically, one litre = 10 miles.

On my 2001 m600 dark I reset the mile'o'meter when I fill 'er up.

The light comes on when I hit 132 miles without fail :) Doesnt really seem to make any difference how I ride it.

I haven't tried measuring how many miles I get once the light comes on until whe runs out...I might do though, and do an average run with my mate following me with a jerry can...How rock and roll is that..

But I usually fill up before the light comes on.

IE bikes will have far less than a carbie when light goes on, and also appear to use far more, as they have the pump inside the tank, taking up space.

About 2.5 laps of Brands Hatch at full chat is about the Max we can get to a litre for the 620:D and it 'can' do a full 15 min session there on a TD with the fuel light coming on in the first lap:cool:

My M1000 gets about 80 to the tank if on a 'spirited' run or up to 120 if on a gentle bimble, then only about 15 MAX after the fuel light comes on.........

My 695 does 135 miles total on a full tank, but I never leave it to the reserve now if I can avoid it,so I fill it around 100 every time, putting around £7-9 in.
As Banditloon says,"I try not to get into the reserve light malarkey too much. Never trust the little gizmos myself."

The otherweek on my S2R100 I filled up at 135 miles, Reserve light had been on for 10 miles. Only managed to get in 11 litres and cost £10.50.

I would say don't expect more that 20miles out of the reserve or you will be pushing the bike as I found out last year. All half a mile of it.

The smaller engines do seem to get slightly better consumption. CORs 620 seems to go to 150miles before she needs to fill up.

147 miles before the little yellow light came on and annoyed me :D

And it certainly wasn't down to the sensible riding technique I had adopted yesterday.

**Awaiting a letter from a (or two) constabulary... eeeeeeeek!

Having had to push mine to a petrol station along a wet and busy dual carriageway - I'll fill up as soon as it comes on! It ran out with after 20 yellow light miles.

I normally run my M750 to about 150 miles before filling up. Never seen the reserve light come on, not at all sure if the little bugger works! If its anything like the neutral light thats never worked!!!

mine comes on around the 119 mark on a standard work week and can let it go to about 135, but i know i won't make it to the next petrol station on the way home :)
so again, about 15miles on reserve
