Dear Ducatisti,

I am a new member to this UK Monster Site, trying to find my way around how to post messages etc., so please be gentle with me !!!

If any of you chaps and/or chapesses fancies a trip down to WDW in Misano in 9 weeks time, but doesnt relish the idea of riding all the way down and back, I am organising a trip.

So far 23 of us (mixed party) on 17 bikes (including a couple of new 1098 Tricolore's!!), are booked to fly to Ancona (Ryanair) on 26 June. We are transporting the bikes down there using Ducati's own appointed shipping company - so bikes will be well packed and arrive safe and sound). There's a coach arranged from Ancona airport to take us to Pesaro where the bikes will be waiting.

On the 2nd July we drop bikes back off in Pesaro, where they will be professionally re-packed, and shipped back to UK, and the coach will collect us and take us back to the airport on the 3rd April, flying back around 10.00 a.m.

We have also arranged hotel accommodation for those that want to use it in Urbino (might visit Valentino's Mum....).

This isnt a package deal I am selling here, as anybody who is interest would have to book their own flights, WDW tickets, etc etc, its just that by putting a bunch of like minded bikers together we can get a cheap hotel, and coach hire etc, and thats what I have arranged already for those who are coming. Another 9 bikes and extra people will further reduce costs for you everyone else.

We have spaces for 9 extra bikes on the trailer, and up to 12 extra riders/pillions, so if anybody is up for it, its a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Down side is that any southern softies who were interested would need to drop off/collect their bikes in Leeds (where men are men and sheep are scared). Im off to pub now, but will read later if anybody is interested in coming along, if you are I can provide you with more details etc.

Best regards from the Northern Bumblebee.

I think quite a few may be interested but it all comes down to money. Previous posts I have seen on this site (and other Ducati forums) show that it ain't gonna be cheap so rather than mess about with private messages etc, post up the costs and I'm sure you will get some responses. It always puts me off when people post something for sale yet never name a price (but that might just be me).

Cheers

Hi Simon,

Re. costs for the WDW trip. You are right its not as cheap as chips, but the economies of scale mean we can keep costs to a minimum. Basic prices are:

Shipping of bikes, Leeds Pesaro Leeds (shipping week before event) £395 there and back, including packing costs, all risks insurance, and free transport of leathers and helmets (one large holdall). Coach transfer too and from Ancona airport to bike depot in Pesaro - £20.00/head.

From this point you can split and do your own thing, Misano is nearby, or I can arrange hotel B&B where we are staying for about Euro 45/night (nice hotel, swimming pool etc) . Our party are flying ex Liverpool on 26 June and returning on 3rd July. So if you did leave us you would need to get your bike back to Pesaro for the Monday afternoon 2nd.

You say in yr. reply I should post all details for everyoe to see on a message board, Derrrrrrr, I am a tecnophobe, no idea how to do this, never used site before, can you help... tell me how to navigate the site to get to right section to post a bulletin/message so everyone can read it.

Nice weekend,

Tony

I know it sounds expensive....and it is/isn't depending on how much you can afford, but if I'd seen this post, say, 6 months previous, I could have saved some hols and money to do this.....

Maybe in the future!

Enjoy WDW2007......

Hi Mark, shame you cant come along, but maybe next time. I am trying to arrange a few trips like this every year; last year Mugello in June this year Misano for WDW. If you send me your email address I will send you some photos to explain how the service is operated. You drop off your bike in Leeds, we pack and ship to wherever, and you fly down and collect bike at other side, have your hols, then drop bike back off in our depot in Italy, it gets re packed and shipped back to UK then you fly back economy.

Best regards and safe riding,

Tony
