Watch out in sussex and surrey the cops have 3 men out on the roads on a GSXR1000 , Yamaha R1 and a fireblade 1000 the bikes are standard apart from the dayglo yellow paint, the rider is wearing a white fullface and black leathers with a dayglo jacket with police on the back, no blue lights or other gear these guys are fast and skilled they have a standard cop motorola radio in their jacket with a throat mike and headphones in the helmet,

Saw the Fireblade in worthing on friday and the GSXR nnear Dorking on saturday,

Sneaky sods. We rode out with a cop to BMF, on the way back we were doing up to 120 to keep up. He was only doing 60 all the way on his Divi 600, the difference was he didn't slow down at all for bends. Couldn't believe how he went round corners. I guess you'd really have to pull something out of the hat to get away! On 1000cc you've got no chance.:(

We slowed down on the bendy road over the top, as you turn by the Black dog pub, on the way up to Rivington Barn. We saw a bike coming up behind at a fair pace. The rider had on a hi-viz yellow jacket, black pants and a white helmet. He was in an upright riding position. Must be police. Even up close he looked like he might be police. He passed an was on one of those BMW off road type things - is it an rs1100 or something? He wasn't police and I bet he has a real hoot passing bikes that have slowed down on seeing him.

You should try riding a Monster or Bandit with a (ex) Police bomber jacket on and a flip up lid ;) Scares the danglies out of people :chuckle:

All sounds very scarey, fast bikes, no markings, good riders etc. Only one thing in our favour.

Motorola Radio's.

Have used these in the past and you may as well shout at people for all the good they are ;0)

Cheers

Are they line of sight, these radios? We have used them at sea where there are no buildings, unless you are a realy bad navigator. But on land all you have to do is turn down a side road and the signal breaks up. Gave up using them on the bikes as we spent too long looking for people who had made a wrong turn and lost contact. Better to not rely on radios, but instead keep an eye on what is going on.
