:banghead: MONO failed M.O.T today, on steering head bearings , which had a tight spot in both directions, when supported. does any 1 know the bearing size as i need 2 get them b4 weekend. tonight i have got front forks out ect, but b4 i can get 2 the head bearings i, it looks like i first have to remove the kin choke cable grrrrrrrrrr, so cant get them ordered 2morrow.
bike is a 94 m600

dont whether Shandy or Eunon can help as they have been stripping and rebuilding lately. Sorry I cant unless its in my manual. I will look.:idea:

Nothing in haynes only how to do it. Try Pedro too as he has a list of bolts and part nos for some bearings hes changed I think.

Nah your right there not in the manual. I don't know (and didn't write down) the exact part no etc for them but i got mine from Motorapido. Speak to Craig down there on 01962 877996 and mention your in the club, that's usually good for 10% discount.

You may be able to get them for a couple of quid cheaper from your local bearing place but to be honest in my opinion and experience its not worth the bother.

cheers 4 that. if i get no joy i will ring them 2 morrow, i am an engineer so i was sorter hoping lol we ave them in stock at work, i may even have them out 2 morrow night but maybe not also lol

Fair enough if you can get em for free!!!! There tapered bearings though (same one top and bottom) so might be a bit more specialist, have fun mine were pigs to get out (sorry that probably doesn't help :chuckle: )

yeah i hane a blind bearing puller so that shud help, the biggest job looks 2 b removing the choke cable. thats where i got 2 this evening

update----i've got out head bearings 2nite, like i thought getting out the choke cable took by far the longest time, if any 1 is interested they r SKF 639172 x2 hopefully all back together 4 the weekend
