Battery charging

I have used an Optimate charger on previous bikes, with the permanent wiring extension to the battery that means you don't have to dig it out and disconnect it when charging. I'm a nervous of doing the same with my M900 as I gather the loom is a bit fragile. Is it safe to charge the battery like this without disconnecting it?

I use an optimate on my S4R, with the connector wired direct on to the battery terminals, and never had any problems.

Me too. Forgot to use it when Beelzebub got laid up and now have to stump up for a new battery. DOH!! :cry:

Yup, I have an Optimate 3 with connector wired direct to the battery. Works fine. Only thing I have found is that the Optimate connector block connection is poor sometimes and 'mate show a battery fault. Nipping up the connector female fittings inside the connector on bike end sets it right again.
