I saw that swingarm and thought it looked rather fun. Is it just a standard S2R (?) swingarm tho. not much good to me really at the minute, I'd need something to slot straight into an early bike. Well, at least until next winter when I take it all apart again...

I used to have a Polished alloy tank on my Rickman - I couldn't fit the Fibre Glass shroud over it it quick enough what a true pain to keep clean even when laquered and as the main body feature apart from the nose fairing it always drew attention - never again....

Still gonna need a load of bits extra like matching wheels or 748/916 rear and spindle /caliper mount and I dont know about suspension parts, probs same

Yeah I know, its just another thing on the list of future mods. Also including an engine swap to a 900 or 1000DS if i can find one, some lighweight rims, full ohlins, a rear view camera and possibly a turbo.

I could just save my pennys and buy a faster bike but... well.... its just not as fun.

Ooh, I want some indicators too. I've lost mine.

I'd just like a tank with no crap in it. If you saw how much has come out of mine in the last two days! No wonder we couldn't keep her running, everything was getting blocked up with what looks like compost mixed with paint flakes:thumbsdown: :(

If anyone is going to bid on that tank, it looks like the version for the earlier (carb) bikes, not an EFI tank... (and therefore not an 800, dunderhead)

The swingarm that Albie spotted looks like a bloody bargin though! - that will bolt straight onto later bikes (using the correct pivot bolt from an S2R/S4R, and all the expensive bits are there (arm and hub)... just get the axle/sprocket carrier/disc and wheel from a 998 and you'd be good to go...

go for it!

JMo, what/when bike/year does this mod become possible?

Basically the S4 style frame - so that's EFI bikes from about 2000 model year onwards - not the ones with the U-frame suspension link, sorry...

Mind you, I can't see why the swingarm itself won't bolt to the back of the earlier engine/s - it's just the linkage rod and rocker/shock etc is different, so you'd have to modify the top of the frame to accept the later rocker, then feasibly it would all fit - but you'd need the later shock/rocker/linkage rod too...

Just buy a new(er) bike Eonan...
