Just read the thread above about lubricating the ignition key. The comment about WD40 got me a bit worried. If it’s a solvent is it alright to spray it all over the bike? I spray most of the metal parts with it and the electrical connections. Should I stop?

best thing to use for ignition key is 3 in 1 oil. WD40 is good, but don't use it on anything rubber...

Or the brakes :chuckle:

GT85 or WD40 is fine for body work and metal. Just to give it that little bit of extra protection against the nasty, metal eating road salt :(

Should be ok. WD40 is four parts solvent and one part light oil plus a little purfume, it will leave a slight oily residue which helps protect against rust, it's ok for use on connectors etc.
