Currently running at about 80-90 MPG including reserve on a tank, i'm intrigued as to what sort of mileage others are getting, i am running full DP chip, filter, exhaust but still only approx. 10 less than original stock when i bought bike.

80 is about what Dementor gets with his S4RS - or less if he lets the berries go on it ;) :D

I'm getting 100 miles to a tank too. Seemed to be less over the weekend had to fill up twice. Maybe the weather...

If I'm commuting, 85 miles before the light comes on.

I sometimes wonder if a manufacturer could get a bike through the Euro 3 regs with individual K & N filter pods? If so, then the airbox could be ditched and much bigger tank fitted becuase there would be more space underneath.

Bike would be much lighter too.

I get about 85 miles before the light comes on, and the bike is currently stock everything. Is that going to drop to 75 miles when I put termis on?

Hmmm

Averaging 100 or so to a tank. Have fitted a Quat D Ex Box with no change in the fuel consumption.

Sorry guys, i meant 80-90 per tank :dunce: , light normally comes on at about 70. Ped, your right though with 133 at the back wheel, what the hell, mind you i will end up filling up about six million times if i go to goodwood, bike loves to drink :booze:

That's just silly, 80 miles on a full tank. Thought my S2R1000 drank a lot, but I won't be trading it in for one of those.
Why do Monsters have such tiny fuel tanks - surely Ducati could squeeze in a few more litres without a major design change?

Well the mad fun of the machine definitely makes up for the poor fuel range- I've been commuting on mine in heavy traffic over the winter and forgotten what fun it was to open it up on a twisty roads, until yesterday.

Awesome power, mega noise, fantastic brakes, quality suspension- the fuel range issue is a pain but I can live with it!

No 76

Doesn't seem to matter, one up two up, blatt or cruise!

Great bike though, just wish the tank held a couple more litres:(

Hello
I have the same problem with mine,so on taking it in for it's 6250 mile service
i mentioned this to the mechanic.
Well on going back iwas in formed that because there is no manual choke or fast idle lever all the from cold runnimg is handled by the CPU.
Well because of the cold weather we have had the CPU is still running the engine rich to compensate for the low tempreture.
I've got to say this seems quiete possible to me because it always seems to run higher tickover rev's in the cold.

abso bloody lutely !! who gives a toss about fuel consumption !! this bike is the dogs danglies. I spent £11600 on my beauty and there is no way I am going to angst over a loss of 20 MPG !!! Never been more than 100 miles before a filling station appears on the horizon ( what's that coming over the hill is it a Monster ! ) and still beats the crap out driving a car - but you just HAVE to put termis on it, head turning noise and power in spades. I Luuuuuuv it !! and I want mine back !!!!!

I know its an old thread but ...

Fuel consumption on my 08 S4RS:

Between 95 and 105 miles (153 to 169 km) to from fill-up to fuel warning light (and some 26 miles (41.8 km) after as a max so far - did not run out and put 2.4 UK gallons (11 litres) in the tank. That is about 95 miles from a tank around town or quick riding and 105 miles per tank on major roads and motorways at legal speeds.
The full to warning light typically uses 1.98 gallons (9 litres) although I did get 10 litres once (??).
So, typical fuel consumption is 50.5 mpg (17.9 l/Km)
