Yep, tis true, I'm booked.

Should be relatively hooligan free cos there's a New Era meeting at Snet on the same day so the racers won't be out in force.
C'mon froggy boy, get on the phone!

Jason Boswell (class B) is booked too, and I think a couple of others may be there too.

Does anyone happen to know if they sell fuel onsite? I've never noticed pumps but then I'm not sure I've fully explored the paddock lately.

banditloon
16-03-2007, 06:33 PM
Usually have to fill up at the Texaco on the A20, before going into the circuit :( Never seen the pumps at the top of the paddock open on track days

slob
16-03-2007, 07:31 PM
I always fill up on the way, trouble is I usually get through about 1 1/2 tanks in a day. Fingers crossed again, I've just left a message on Zimbo's phone and hope he's got a gerry can as usual.

Gilps
16-03-2007, 07:48 PM
I usually have the bike full and then take a 20 litre can but the bikes empty so I've only got the 20 litres. If it's not enough I'll have to pop out at lunch for more. Or I could just take it easy all day to save fuel.

Did you get your bike fixed in the end Gilps?

Slob, Phoenix, Zimbo, Froggy(aka Tonio600), BanditLoon & Gully - was good to see you today, but sorry we didnt stop on for the afternoon, but had a few things to do........

All fixed, sorta. Several people helped but Zimbo worked wonders. He worked right through lunch bless him. I managed two sessions this afternoon but I just couldn't commit to the corners anymore. It's going to take a while before I have confidence in the bike again, even though it was all my fault.
It was good to see you and Alan again.

Hope the bruising on your hand comes out quickly mate - its going to be a pretty colour!

More practice needed now, thats all - are you booked for more at Brands before the 1st race?

Are you stupid. I'm not going back there again, ever. There's not enough straight bits and too many bendy bits. Crap circuit. I'll probably just do Assen this year.;)

I've got Mallory on April 7th then that's it for me until the first race at Brands, so the next time I see that place will be for the real deal. I don't think anyones going to be brave enough to go around the outside of me around Clearways though. There a strong possibility of me lowsiding any passers.

So is Brands Indy worth the money? I see that Focused Events has a couple of dates in April for around £130. Is it more/less fun than Mallory.

Nice pics by the way Mr Loon, is it your day job? Been jealously looking at them and now my bike seems clonk free am looking to break this years duck.

Personally I think it's harder to get right than Mallory. It's a little shorter with some quite severe elevation changes.
I'm half considering the Easter do at Mallory, will wait a little longer for the weather report and hope that there are places left.
I prefer No-Limits to Focused Events, not entirely sure why, maybe it's WJB's safety briefings.
Brands is bloody convenient if you live in East London.

Zimbo

I have to say I prefer Brands to Mallory, the gradients make it fairly interesting, the circuit flows well with no interuptions - Mallory is a series of chicanes now designed to interupt the flow of the circuit and slow you down. You get Gerrards of course, but Brands has some good corners too, very fast (Surtees for instance).

I've just been looking at the web site for the official photographer. There's some great ones of Rob and Graeme on there.

Tonio is the man for photos, he gets so low on the bike you can hardly see him in half the shots, he looks like a pro.

I know what you mean about No Limits vs FE but I quite fancy trying Brands, also seems it would be the same cost when you add petrol and a bed to the equation. Let me know if you change your mind.
