been quoted £32 + vat for a new battery for my 900ie. is that about right?:thumbsup:

Depends what type it is - a cheapo pattern type may only last 5 mins. IMO you tend to get what you pay for where batteries are concerned, and cheap generally = crap.

I paid just over £60 for one for the trike (genuine Yuasa) last summer

Optimate (or similar) is a good investment too if you haven't already got one

As the quote says, you get what you pay for. From dealer side, I used to stock cheaper batteries for customers but when I had to return 1 for every 3 -4 I sold because they died so quickly, I thought b0llocks to that. I use yuasa on my bike and wouldn't change for something cheaper.
