Well it all started off well, rode like a loony up to Malton to see John Warrington to order a front tyre to match the rear i got hold of cheap!
I turned up and he had just taken a very lightly worn one off another bike and gave it to me free!! (Woo hoo!)
I then collected some bits and bobs from the 900SS engine that he did not need and chucked then in my day sack and i was ready for the off!
As i was walking towards the door with John i saw a Black and Red Monster slowly falling (Quite fast actually) towards the earth!
Some young youth had clipped it and knocked it, not off the side stand but over it!!! The side stand didnt fold until the bike was on the tarmac!!
Damage slightly out of line bars (Just an inch out!!), snapped gear lever (Just the usual!!) and a nice pea sized dent in the tank (Not happy!!) the horn on the light switch had just made contact, the switch is knackered as well! To top it off the new to me DP rearsets took a kicking but saved the rest of the bike!
The rearsets bent to make contact with the swingarm and also bent the mounting lugs on the frame!
Through out i remained calm, much to Johns dismay. So you win some and lose some.
John bless him straightened the lugs and the rearsets straight away, he is a bloody superstar!
So what happened on your Friday!
