now then, thinking for random things to do next year, i would very much like to inspect your local cafe. this okendale place in kent seems very popular but does it live up to the high standards that are set up at hartside ?

i need a bit of help with a list i think

where is your local biker cafe ?

oh and clearly need to know the best thing on the menu
(think it has to be savory for me)

The oakdene is a very popular been there donkeys years cafe with not the bestest ever food but good food and good value. Struggle sometimes to eat it all. Too popular at times and very slow service as not enough front till staff. Poor old Pat does her best. Car park is gravel and shortys dont like it. Ok for me but when the loons get there its dusty. Good meeting point for rideoutsand Brands Hatch as close too m20/m26/25.

Recommend it to all.:tgoe:

Whiteways Lodge - also known as Hykers Cafe, or Bury Hill car park. On the A29 in Sussex, about 3 miles from Arundel, right on top of the South Downs.

Haven't sampled the food there (good tea and coffee though), but I know they do bacon butties, etc. Very popular bike meet spot on any sunny weekend - over 100 bikes on a good day.

Late opening on Tuesdays and Thursday thoughout the summer - but don't venture there on a Friday, as Fodder discovered ("you must be very hot in those leathers"). Apparently it is a popular dogging spot (whatever that is..)

Usually the Sussex meet point for rideouts (and only 2 miles from my house - always useful!).

okendale????

Sounds like a cafe frequented by the flat cap/pigeons breeder/wippet racing brigade to me?

If we want savory we break out the HP sauce - so classy

While for the "what not to eat" tips you had best ask our local expert Graham AKA Gut Buster Gully :)

Well actually I reckon that one we went to on the monsta ride yesterday was pretty good, hill top cafe near salisbury, you can sit in - keep warm, massive 'proper' car park and good food, reasonable prices and very friendly and good for bikers!

so i think i'd vote for them. only 20 mins from Winchester

one at bury is good, but you can't sit in if you're freezing anywhere, great in summer though

A subject of debate amongst my colleagues. My vote goes for The Regency Cafe in Pimlico (17-19 Regency Street, London, SW1P 4BY).

Probably the best chips in town. Great daily specials. Parking for bikes just across the road. Open till seven in the evening and Saturday mornings. It's just inside the Congestion Zone if you're driving.

Wikipedia actually uses this place to define "Greasy Spoon." (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greasy_spoon)

The gaffer has the best voice I've heard anywhere outside the Royal Albert Hall. Shame about all the Spurs clinker on the walls.

Watch out for the really hot plates.

I also recommend Monty's Cafe, just south of Coulsdon on the A23. Like a greasy oasis on a cold winter morning. Order the "Full Monty" if you dare. Enough lard for a week.

That place in Rothbury. The bacon is crap, but isn't it everywhere?
