I haven't looked at the video as I am at work and can't but the no helmet bit? It was reported that the earth had to be dug away from around his helmet as it had imbedded so far in the grass.....something sounds a bit dodgy somewhere!!

Don't worry it's do with the people outside the safety cage. You know what it's like once the big wheel and health and safety start turning - safety is paramount.

My ancient dial-up won't play movies either, but I can imagine what this is... ho ho...

On a more serious note, I saw a tabloid headline today saying that Richard Hammond has asked for the (real) footage of his accident to be broadcast - in an effort to save Top Gear from being axed...?!

Are the BBC really planning on stopping the show because of this? - I can understand it if someone had been killed, but in light of Richard's speedy recovery you'd think it would be business as usual? Afterall, Top Gear is muted as on of the BBC's top rated shows... isn't it?

Or is the reality that the ratings have been dropping off recently and this is a way to drum up public support for the show?

Ahem.
