Anybody give me the heads up on the cost of a 12k service (i.e. belts and valve clearances.) on a 4 valve monster? I'll probably be going to Snells as they're local and well recommended but it's always nice to be forewarned. :)

TIA

My 6000 mile service was £980 from South London Ducati but included £160 for a potentiometer for the fuel injection and £120 for a set of clutch plates so deducting the VAT on the above two items the bill was circa £650 inc of VAT
Oddly the bike ran worse after they had it - I went round next day to complain but the doors were locked never to re-open

Jesus H Christ! I thought it'd be dear but that's outrageous! I know third world countries whose debt is less!

I might do it myself, if snells charge similar. :)

This is taken from Ducati Glasgow's website and is a couple of years old, I think. Top one is 6k service, second one - 12k service.

To give you an idea they say a 6k service for a 620 is £250 and mine was £400 at Duke London Vauxhaull 2 months ago. Hope it gives you some idea and sure people who have had theirs done will be along soon.

Rod - Snellys are very up front, so just ask them what the service will cost mate, including the old 'dreaded' on top. You will get a discount (usually 10%) if you are a 'card carrying' DSC member too.

Services only start to cost lots more when pepps add in other bits & bobs such as tyres etc, but they often forget to mention that.

There is a strict 'ducati' pricing for each type of bike service anyway, so all the 'approved' outlets wont be that far out from each other.

Might also be worth giving Moto Rapido a call too & ask Wilf the cost too.

Mike Dawson is operating in N.Surrey as an independant & there are good reports coming about his work, but he cant stamp your service book with an official stamp

Must catch up soon mate

C :)

Wow, those prices are expensive!! Here are the service costs for my 2006 S4Rs so far:

1000km (600mile) service: €165 inc. VAT (114 GBP)
10000km (6000mile) service: €304 inc. VAT (210 GBP)

1st set of tyres installed at 4000km - Dunlop Sportmax GP 208 RR €290 installed front and rear.

2nd set (front tyre not changed) at 12200km - Dunlop Sportmax GP 208 RR €183

The 20,000km service is supposed to be in the region of €450 (310 GBP) - that one will be very not welcome amount of money to spend..

I recently paid £260 for my m750's 12.5k service. This included a modification to the stand and replaced rear wheel bearings. But did not include fork oil change or brake pads (these were unnecessary).
