heya people of the Monnie,
was wondering what sort of options people know of to make my loverly, shiney, loud S2R into a monoposto. the DP CF single seat looks cool, but i dont need it to be CF, so its alot of money i dont need to spend.
looking thru my Demon Tweeks 2006 catalogue, they have an awesome MV F4 seat, but eugh, its a universal fitment jobbie, so will proberly require cutting and bodging, and all that malarkey. tho it would look the dogs danglies!
any thoughts people?
(oh FYI, it would get colour coded, as in, red with the off-centre white stripe)

you can buy MV seat units that fit directly onto the monster using the original seat and everything - check out the pics in the gallery of stuartg's foxy little number, or go to simonvicki.co.uk and look at the s4r they did with one - they're a stunning conversion if they float your boat dude

Warning, its HUGE
it makes the bike look massive and you have to buy the lights etc for it too. I'm watching this thread with interest as i plan on going solo again but without the frame chop.

no chop????????, always the chop???
stuart g's doesn't make his look massive - tho he does have some quite wite yokes on it, perhaps that's why.
i know they're not expensive dude - about £60 unpainted off of ebay, you could always sell it on.

i think it would be beneficial that if it did need cutting and fitting, then would be better to get it done properly, by a professional.

other rear seat units that 'can' fit with some adjustment or fettling is the R6 race seat or the 916/996 - having got both on some of our monsters.
The R6 mono seat is on the racebikes (583 and also the 620), and the 916 lookalike copy is on the tricolour, and the exhaust is worked to exit through the centre of the rear of it
Happy shopping:)

C, you got any photos, or links to photos of the R6 seat on the bike?

Thats the wrong one for the monster. I have a brand new unpainted monster one you can have for £35 +p&p if you're interested. (You'll still need to get rear light and indicators for it though). Was going to do it to mine but gave up and gone with the naked streetfighter look.
PM me if you're interested.
Phil
I can't believe someone hasn't said it already...
You've got a Monster, it has a seat cowl - it's already a monoposto surely?!
(ok, unbolt the pillion pegs to be truely authentic...)

Cheers PD :D
the bike on the left is the 583, and has an early R6 seat, which is more pointed. The 620 on the right has the later seat - which is more flat on the top and rounded too - and that is a much better shape IMHO :)

I personally think the MV tail is too wide for the otherwise slim lines of a monster, especially if the cans are not tucked is as on the MV. I think something along the line of this is much neater, but the standard seat/cover combo takes a lot of beating TBH.

Gary, i do like the DP single seater, but hell its alot of money. i mean if they did a non CF seat, then yeah i'd probs get that.
and check it out, the queen of monster customisation (JMo, for anyone who really is that silly lol), saying standard is best lol
- Jmo, you should get my cheque today (if not already) for the chop kit.
and bodybag, any chance of a pm from your good self with info on the seat?

Yep, it arrived this morning - I'll post the kit out to you this afternoon, you could be chopped in time for Saturday!
