Oil leak - rather dramatic

Hi folks
The M600 has just turned 50, thats 50 thousand miles. For the first time I have a worrying problem. Oil pumping out of the filter housing. Now that would be a split rubber seal says I. Correct. But the replacement lasted ten miles before spewing out my nice new oil - all over the back wheel and brake.
So what is the cause? Anyone help?

Did you have a look at the seal mounting face up inside the cases? Might just be dirty

If its not what Ped says then suspect the oil pressure relief valve sticking shut causing system to over pressurise and cause seal to blow.

Cheers all.
The mounting face was good and clean, never thought about the oil pressure valve. Is it an easy (ish) job. Are they cheap (ish). I have this sinking feeling that I am not going to get many more miles without some expensive rebuild...
