I am afraid I broke down coming into Weston, I arrived just after 12 with water pouring out of the bike and then discovered that I hadn't ticked the breakdown recovery box on the insurance. 3 hours later I was recovered through the car insurance and taken to my father in laws. I have looked at the bike today and there is water in it still? I have traced the water up to the pressure valve on the expansion bottle. I think it may have been over filled with water on the last service and due to the heat spilled it all out. I am going to ride it tomorrow as I have run it today for 20 minutes with nothing going wrong and the temp being controlled as per normal, I will get it checked over.
So sorry about yesterday.

Sorry we missed you, we had a fairly good day, interesting bikes etc at the custom show.

Ended up with 4 monsters (JR,Bunny, Cor and myself) with Duc making a appearance as we went for a ride to Priddy. We had a chilled out day, stopping at the New Inn in Priddy, people departed from there to go home.

Unfortunelty on way back from Priddy I was heading into a bend (yes I have been here before) and felt the rear loose traction, the bike shimmered like anything and unfortunelty I lost it on the gravel throwing me off the bike (JR that bend we all spoke about on the way to priddy). I still don't know what caused it other than loosing the rear, I wasn't going to fast into it and am now a bit miffed. Cor did mention that the tarmac was as soft as butter in the heat where my bike had the accident. So I may have not realised I was going just to much for the tarmac. Who no's other than it bloody hurt.

Damage to the bike is def a new left front fork, rear break lever and a top yoke cover (handle bars mount onto). A couple of guys with me picked the bike up and I jumped on it and road the 15 miles back home, noticing the fork oil on the left and then spotting the yoke realising it was cracked. I nursed it home and then went to A&E, x-rays on my hips and right shoulder show no bone damage, just a soft tissue damge, may have torn the upper muscle in the shoulder. So off work for a few days until I can use my stearing wheel.

Have already started pricing stuff up, yoke 157, brake 58, fork 650.. Have damaged front screen and seat cover, but have a bristol contact who should be able to sort that out for me for a reasonable price. If anyone has any better ideas on getting bits cheaper then let me know otherwise i will take the bullet and get the bits and repair it myself. As for as I see it "My fault I fix it".

So my air mile points collection is getting high this year..

Pel, Sorry to hear about your off after I departed. As you said, it was such a nice warm chilled out day, what an unpleasant end. Glad to hear you have no bones broken though - bikes are easily fixed. Have you spoken to Rich at Luigi Moto's for parts - he has tons of bits and pieces on racks in his workshop - he might have what you want.

Pel,
also sorry to hear of your accident.
Hope you are mending quickly. At least you were dressed more appropriately than some riders we saw that day.
Best wishes from me and Sue.

Ta for all the votes of sympathy, I am a bit battered and bruised, but more concerned about my bike.

Gilps as you know, due to the hornet I feel it is best not to go through insurers. As one total loss this year is already a large noose around my neck.

Spoke with Dunc last night and after describing what happened he thinks I actually high sided. Tarmac may have been part of cause, just bloody unlucky.

Both Dunc and JR plus another friend are giving sound advice like use dealer last if all else fails. And with the support shown in another thread I am hoping I may be able to afford to do all the work myself.

I am miffed as I don't feel I was being silly, I still in shock after my French trip and tend to be slow on corners. But as I wa on it, its my fault and I feel it's down to me to sort it and get my bike back as it should be.

Have had some possible good news on some bits just need to confirm whats what and see how much.

Regards

Battered and bruised "Sadbiker" (May be I should change this name)
