Help E.c.u. Problem

Hi i hope somone can help i have 2001 S4 and have just purchased a set of high level Termi"s, Air filter,Air box and a racing e.c.u.
The problem i have is the instrutions are not very clear and believe the key seqence is red 1sec/black 1sec/black 1sec/red 1sec wait 30sec red key.
If this is right? at the end the LED flashes 0.7 but only once then LED stays on,if i am doing this right according to the instructions it is fault code for a break in the connection between the E.C.U. and the bike. but when i replace the E.C.U. with old one straight away it will fire up.

humm ive no idea

but did the same to my motor well local official dealer did
and all was well for a while, though some nights when i parked up the led didnt flash anymore and now it seems to have settled down to being normal when parked up put the led stays on all the time with they key in, works like so im not so keen to mess at the moment
