I'm after advice on a 1997 M900 carb please: can a rev-counter be retrofitted? (why wasn't it standard anyway??), and if so, roughly what work/cost is involved? Many thanx!

My M900 Dark didn't have a Rev counter because it was a poor relation in th erange but older bikes may not have had one on grounds of cost alone.

You can get a specific insert that is square in shape that fits above the idiot lights or junk the whole lot and buy a new set of clocks inserting your own speedo of course.

Cost £50 to £150 depending on option and new/used

Spareshack used to punt a dash on ebay for £150 plus VAT new
and of course there are some very expensive options in the Ducati/Roadracing catalogues

I understand its a relatively easy job

i am still working on an electronic LED tach for mine, to replace the whole dashboard. (30 leds).
I have the electronics sorted, i just need a few spare hours to work out a housing and face plate (aluminium) and casing.
hopefully next week.
this project of mine started almost 2 years ago, i just resurected it.
