For those of you who don't already know I'd like to explain a little about M.A.D. and what it stands for.
M.A.D. stands for Make a Difference, a concept which dazzi-b and myself thought up in order to raise money for charity.
The charity we've chosen to support is Martin House Children's Hospice (http://www.martinhouse.org.uk/Care/About%20Us/about.htm) near Wetherby, Yorkshire.
They do an amazing job of helping people through an incredibley difficult time.
They rely on donations to keep the Hospice running, they only get 5% of the money they need from the Government.
Without the generosity of others, the Hospice just wouldn't be there.
We're lucky enough to be able to experience life as adults with all it's highs and lows.
We can get out and meet up with like minded people for a chat and a laugh, and at the same time we can raise money which can help people who desperately need it.....Everybody gains something!
The first MAD weekend was small but very successful, we'd like to build on that and turn this into an annual event.
MAD2 will certainly be bigger and better!
We'll be sticking with the same venue - Squires cafe, Newthorpe near Leeds, and we intend to raise money solely for Martin House.
Donations can be made at any time, not just the run up to the event itself.
At the end of the "year" we will present Martin House with a cheque for the total amount raised.
Cheques should be made payable to "Make a Difference".
