Thinking about my arse-end like many new monster owners prolly do, so thought it would be nice to have a clean thread. Detailing the options out there in the one place. I have used the old search button and.... yeah there is quite a bit here and there. But be canny to have it in the same place me thinks.
so.......
Arse modders
Post a piccy of your arse end stick to the bikes please ;)
Duc Model / Year
Detail of kit used?
All come in one kit?, or extras required for mounting indi's plate light etc
Required Chop or Not?
Any niggles with the install?
Link to where to buy it if u can remember.
Post nowt else, lets keep this thread clean, then maybe if theres options one after the other it could be stickied to help future arse modifiers that are fortunate to find :ukm: 's happy home.
Started another spamage thread if we cant hold it in :) , and must have a "to chop or not?" thread, or "your arse is sooo lerrvly", "not so keen on that one", kind of banter, which it would be rude not too eh...

Beelzebub had a jMo chop kit but it didn't work too well with the high cans (probably my useless engineering skills and my impatience) so I put in a rear LED light and tinycators instead.
Hope this is what you wanted. :mand:

Redbeeproducts tail tidy on a '95 M600 bought via e-bay.
Easy to fit no extra mountings need for anything.
Non chop option you keep the tea tray, removed a great load of plastic from the back of my bike though!
Only a few little niggles,
1, i didn't have a heat gun to do heat shrink over cables for indicators etc so need to re-visit that at some point
2, i put a couple of coats of spray hamerite on it as another member said paint finish wasn't great, but hey get what you pay for.
3, i need to find somewhere to stick a rear reflector for the MOT.
Link to ebay shop they have the Ducati ones in there somewhere,

Pictures should be attached, please note the main reason for keeping the tea tray is demonstrated :yoparty:

98 m900 home baked hatchet job. made bracket out of aluminium plate (shall make a stainless one soon), cut and ground off as much as possible including seat lock/release keyswitch bracket. seat release is now via a control cable routed to a top secret location elsewhere. used standard indicators as temporary job - will buy tidy ones soon. number plate illumination now via underside of tail light.
hope the pic uploads

With the greatest of respect:
a) your Termis are like wheelbarrow handles (cut 'em down or get Sils)
b) it looks shonky because you used a bent piece of metal for the numberplate holder (instead of the plastic piece that comes on the bike originally, together with the rear number plate light)...
c) and you've made it look worse by putting on a shonky tail light...
But hey, each to their own.
The JMo kits is a doddle to fit (plenty of testamonials x) and looks great with the stacked exhausts - have sold/fitted a number to S2Rs recently...
The trick is to follow the instructions (ahem, phil x), use the original number plate holder/lamp and choose either the combined Clear Alternatives LED rear light unit (built in indicators) or the original lamp and a pair of tinycators/kellermanns, as shown in the instructions.

The Redbee tail-tidy is for the earlier bikes with a square tea tray, and replaces the original large plastic numberplate/indicator mounting unit under the tea-tray, it is not a chop kit.
While it may physically fit the later frames, there is no point, as the indicator mounts are moulded into the curved tea-tray on the later bikes...

I love the tail chop on most Monsters and it looks like JMo has made a great kit, but I am not sure about it on the S2R/S4R with stacked pipes - the pipes come out too far, which means you have to get a smaller number plate ( Gilps has done this on his S2R) or chop the pipes down - which I was reluctant to do. I think I have a photo of Gilps's bike somewhere, which I will post.

I Chopped my S2R - and the pipes look just fine, plus the number plate was no where near in the way (although i went small anyway). the only bike i've seen it a slight issue with is any running high levels either side.
I'll post some pics on this thread next week.

Gilps S2R tail chop:

sorry it's so small - I can't seem to resize my pixels without resizing the picture!
Perhaps Gilps will come along and have a better picture.

I found it on another thread:

pretty neat and you dont have to chop.

Gilps S2R tail chop
yeah thats with cans either side - same problem with any monster with high levels. the cans could do with chopping too. the tail chop with stacked cans is just about right - the bottom of the two cans hangs over just a little but as it follows the lines it looks really neat.
here's a picture of mine when it still had standard cans, standard number plate and standard number plate holder - sorry the pic aint bigger

Gilps has stacked Termis, which are longer than the standard S2R/S4R cans - as Markus says, with the standard cans it looks great (it did on Banshee's bike too) and the standard number plate fits... although as has been suggested, you can always get a slightly smaller plate of course... x

That'll teach me to go off on hols. I come back to find unauthorised piccies of me bike being posted :mand:
anyway just to clarify, Jmo is dead right. the problem with my cans and no. plate was because the termis are longer than standard cans. nothing to do with the kit. Its a pity Ducati dont do a performance can that looks like the original as I think the original looks much better than he Termis. I know they can be cored but I would screw it up and would rather pay someone else to do it right. Plus, I don't actually like CF.
I also have the Jmo kit and yet again will recomend it. the instructions are clear. Any idiot could do it, i know coz i did.
