Before you chop yer bike in against a new S4RS, send me a piccie let me know how much. You'll surely get a better deal for cash:mand:
With luck you'll be in the South West as well.

looking over his history looks to me like he could be a dealer . and if you read the questions bit he doesnt really seem keen to send close ups. its not dear tho for an r reg 900

Thanks monkey it was my question in the listing. Good point to look at the history though, hadn't got round to it yet.

I would say the belts need replacing, and a full engine service (oil/filters/shims/carbs etc) would also be wise given mileage, unless seller can prove all these were done recently.

Sub £2K is a fair B.I.N. price for a 900 of that vintage in VGC

Parkers Quote...

Ducati M900 S 1997/R
Original Price £ 8000
Independent Dealer £ 2130
Private Good £ 1995
Private Poor £ 1390
Part Exchange £ 1855

You may be able to get the rev counter repaired - or track down a replacement from Road Racing or DP. They are normally electic units and pick up a signal off the coils - so it could even be a broken wire or duff connection?

Again from Parkers..

Ducati M900 1997/P

Original Price £ 8000
Independent Dealer £ 2130
Private Good £ 1995
Private Poor £ 1390
Part Exchange £ 1855

And thats for a STANDARD M900 for fecks sake

Your's is hardly standard - in fact it has the best part of £1500+ of added bling. Take any monster to a lot of 'Jap only' dealers for a PX and expect to be taken for a mug - they just won't giva a toss.

at the end of the day dealers like that want to make money so they will tell you how 'undesirable' how 'it will be hard to shift it'......grrrrr.... they just want to lull you into a false sense os security, whip your bike off your hands and kick you out the door a little dazed and confused of what you have just done.............. been there, done that, but walked away with me bike :)

SJR I would of paid upwards of 2k for yours without doubt...... if you don't get the price you want for it then keep it I say.
