Mine are fully trained and would only attack if provoked.

No, the forum heading says "Random Chat" so I grabbed the first random thought running past my mind and typed it out. :banghead:

...Any more random and we'll be calling the padded van brigade out to Angel!!

Are you suggesting the section named Random Chat should be used for just that? Really, people have tried and failed, well, actually they succeeded for quite some time but all fell by the wayside, dear friends.

The squirrels are poised, it just takes one word.

Ah so that's where you are then.

I'm often near the Angel (close to a court I attend in Rosebery Avenue) and invariably see at least one Monster at the crossroads with Pentonville Road.

So if you see a suited and booted (and devilishly handsome) bloke grinning and mouthing "I've got one of those" chances are it's me!! (tomorrow f'rinstance)

Oh and I have to agree with Nonnie's comments - beware lest your Random Threads get too random as that can cause you no end of online grief from those with both Monsters and anoraks! :banghead: :mand:

Okay, I think I have an answer for you.......bear in mind that this is all based on Grey squirrels.

Apparently the Sciurus carolinensis (Grey Squirrel) usually weights between 1 and 1.5 lbs so we'll take 1.25lbs as an average, now a squirrel can lift its bodyweight with ease using just 1 limb, however it is obserbved that during the autumn when they are at their heaviest just before hybernation (Grey squirrels don't actually hybernate but do rest and slouch around alot in the winter) that they lose purchase and often fall, unable to hold their current weight of approx 2.15lbs average with 1 limb.

So, It would make sence that a mid summer Squirrel can lift with 2 limbs a combines weight of 3.225lbs as you cant actually just double the weight for using both limbs but multiply by 1.5.

Right, so a Monster 620ie has a weight of (Dry weight 177kg (390lb)).

It would therefore make sense that it could be thrown by 120.93 okay 121 squirrels, however the size of said mass of tail fluff would notallow them all the same oportunity to gain purchase to the bike, therefore rigging or a platform would need to be constructed, and the weight of the platform added to the initial equation, therefore increasing the number of squirrels and so exhasperating the initial problem.

Also I feel that the throw would be more of a semi controlled drop with a bit of push, so could it even be concidered as a throw? Who knows?

Then again all this could just be the ramblings of some strange bloke on the net.........

thanks Chaos Inc.....now my life has meaning. ;)

The Mind is a Terrible Thing to Taste. I also managed to find out that squirrels are in fact the land minions of the Evil overlord penguins who are trying to take over the world.

You don't believe me? Check this out: http://www.scarysquirrel.org/tufty/

Oh. Oh dear.

I am starting to worry now about the imaginary herd of squrrels I have so far trained. I thought they were alright. They seemed quite nice enough.

I'm sure it's just an isolated incident and mine are no relation to Tufty.

Fingers crossed.

Upon reflection, I have had a long talk with the squirrels, told them of the suspisions and displayed the evidence before them. I will give them til tonight to prove to me they mean us no harm, otherwise I'm afraid they will be banished. This happened with my imaginary cat Mao Tse Tung too. You can just never be too careful, can you?

I find it difficult to even mention their name. One quick google search just adds weight to my fears!!! I may only venture out now with full leathers and helmet!!

At great personal risk I have obtained files and footage for our fight against the enemy: http://pengor.blogspot.com/2005/10/another-blow-for-penguin-liberation.html Be advised, don't show this to anyone without the correct level of clearance or medication.
