Got any imaginative routes in mind?

benson
28-05-2006, 09:33 AM
Ha ha :chuckle: - at this point absolutely none!

I'm just hoping to be free for a few hours and make it over there for lunch - we're having the BIG Children's Service inspection at the moment so it's all a bit frantic - I can't believe how fascinating reams and reams of data can be to inspectors!!! They crunch data and question us for a week then go away and come back to do two weeks of field work in mid June - when everyone else will be having fun at the track day :toilet: oh joy!!!!:banghead:

So - I'll no doubt consult a map (oh god... - what a risk...) at some point but if I'm at work it'll be the fastest and easiest route no doubt involving the A40!!!

hope to see you tomorow though!

Ah, but the A40's a joyless road... I too will consult a map.

benson
28-05-2006, 09:38 AM
You're right there Slob!!!

Just thinking that sometimes with joylessness comes speed - did someone say that in Kill Bill? :chuckle: I must watch that again soon - what fun!!!!

Happy map reading - I will do the same!

Benson,

You could visit the lovely village of Benson, which is just south of Harley's!

FB, looks like you'll need your tin hat on - we might be coming:D

Slob/ Rachel - pick up either the A4155 or the A4130 & go through Henley-O-T.

We'll prob come up the A321 or A4130 to Henley, then onwards to Fox's.

Judging by the weather here at the moment you might be better off coming by car....

Rain, hail, black clouds....

Fingers crossed things improve in the next couple of hours....

We stopped for cake on the way home and still missed getting soaked by a good five minutes.
Good thing it's only 'dry wet' (c)Emily'06.
How did they know we were coming?(see photo)

Good to see you all
I stayed dry all day until
I walked the dog and got caught
in a downpour, soaked through,

He he he!!!!! Thank you Slob!!!

I missed a good time by the sounds of it but then again I am dry!!!:banghead:

We stumbled upon a little bit of that 'proper wet' stuff, as opposed to that 'dry wet' stuff. Nothing major though so that was handy.

Nice to see you all today - some new faces and some old faces which is always nice. Thanks for turning up late Slob, we were just about to set off when you arrived so we'd have got caught in that hailstorm. Plus I got to have another pot of tea which is always a bonus.

Then on the way home Ped and Nik played this crazy game where you go along the A34 for a few miles, come off at a random junction, go around a few roundabouts and then get back on the A34 again. I'm sure at one point we even came back onto the A34 at the junction before the one we got off! I've got a terrible sense of direction but even I'd worked out that they didn't have a clue which way they wanted to go!!!

See you all soon!

Emily

Yes it was good to meet new faces and old faces. (not that I'm calling you old Pedro!)
The journey there was good - despite the detour. (HOW many roundabouts are there in Pangbourne and Reading?)

The journey home was good too - even more detours! I think all roads lead to the A34!

It only started raining half a mile from home - but it was real wet stuff - not the dry wet stuff ;)

Fatbloke - that is a nice bike. I can't imagine why you are thinking of selling it:mand:

Glad to hear most of you seem to have escaped a soaking. The heavens opened about a minute after I got home - copped a few drops/hailstones just after I left Foxy's but nothing major.

Terry, if you ever do sell the bike and don't want the seat can I have first option on it please :-)

Cheers,

Pete

Another one!
I thought I was bad.

It looks like we will have to start looking at S2R1000s then - although Andy wants to check out the GT1000 too.

Good to see all today. Apologies for the crap sense of direction today but I thought I'd better do my best Boozy Bob substitution in his absence!!!

The last 10 miles to home was a right giggle though, big handfuls and scorching bends except where they wer e covered in slime of the trees!!!

They were obviously expecting a visit

If you look carefully you'll spot all the hedges (in Benson) have been neatly trimmed :chuckle:
