I'm a new member just thought I'd say hello. I'm intending to buy a M900 in the near future but want to find out about them before I start looking seriously. Anyone got any advice on buying? eg are there any known weak points? What are the common/worthwhile modifications?
Chas
BTW Rod Lowe said to tell you he sent me.

Hi there Chas - nice to meet you!!! The 900 is a great bike - I have the injected version so no carb icing for me! There are so many people on here who will be happy to help - also check out the for sale threads - there might be the bike for you lurking out there! I'm the Essex and London rep by the way - whereabouts are you??

I'm in Stroud Chas, fairly modified M900. I try to get down to the Saturday morning meets monthly at Riders.
Seconded about Duncan, he's local area rep and knows a lot about 'em.

Hi Chas and welcome to UKMOC.
If you buy an older M900 it's a good bet it'll have loads of mods done already. Monsters don't tend to stay standard for very long - especially once you get involved with this club. Also have a butchers at the gallery section - always a good way to pick up ideas

Nooooooooooo don't chop the tail
This is a long standing debate between monster owners... weather to chop the tea-tray at the back off or to keep it. Personally, mine's invaluable at the Oakdene cafe when there's standing room only! :mand:
Hi Chas, Any joy yet or are you still considering?

It's me, Rod. Funnily enough. :)

Hi Rod,
Only just seen this as I've been away in France. It looks like I'm going to have to put my bike buying plans on hold as I've decided to buy a paraglider and train for my club pilot qualification. Unfortunately this means I won't have the funds for a Monster for a while.
