anyone know how much work would have to go in to doing the same for my S2R? or maybe a 999 front end (just the headlight bit).

Cost?
tally up from fleabay mate.
you'll need the front cone off a 9** (or other)
Paint said cone to your own colour (again, can be with aerosols from Halfrauds, to a top notch paintshop costing about £80 - £100
You will then need custom bracket made for the bike, which will need welding to the headstock & top yoke (cost to get done will be anything from £40 - £100 depending where you go)
Also will poss need to make fixing point to frame on the side to keep ends in/stable!
Make up water tight connections for the lights/indicators, and Bobs your aunties uncle.

do it to an old monster.........not something as new as a S2R,u try and sell it after u have had that lot grafted on........be hard job,IMO..or sell ur monster and buy a 749/999 there flippin cheap enough..even the dealer are sticking them out 0% over 3 yrs

nowt to stop you getting hold of another top yoke to weld the supports onto tho, so it can be put back to standard if ya wana sell it.
Lord knows the S2r is cheaper to insure than a 748/9 or 9**

lol amen brother (markus), they (the 749/ 748) were alot more to insure over the S2R. tho my dream front end, would be the one off the MH900e.
markus
22-05-2006, 02:53 PM
God yes - i hear that, the MH900e is my dream bike - true motorcycle pornography!!!!!!!!!!!
One day, one day........

could you imagine it markus, you open your garage, and there, on paddock stands are a Paul Smart, and an MH900e.......... decisions decisions! what to ride first!?
markus
22-05-2006, 03:01 PM
The Paul smart, a sassy bike indeed. But the MH, I'd need a bolster permenantly strapped to my chin to soak up all the drool. I don't think i'd ever get off of the thing - did you see the one carbon dream did up in full carbon clothing?, it was like gods own motorcycle!! (you know he's a bad ass motorbike riding mofo!)

CORRECTION, God is not only a bad ass motorbike riding mofo, he is also a Ducatisti! - the man has taste! but then so do you, red S2R!

Red with the white stripe, easily the fasted colour!!!
tho do have a hankering for a carbon and gloss black tank and seat cowl - looks real hot with the red frame!!!
See your going for the Sil megaphones dude, i've been thinking about the brushed ally ones - you going ally or carbon?

carbon i think chap. ive got all the accessories to carbonise my engine ( clutch cover, sprocket cover, timing belt cover, lower cowl, 2 part chain guard, and also a rear hugger), so i will keep to the carbon theme for the exhausts methinks. tho one of the first things i did, was take off the rear pegs!
was on the DML forums (www.ducatimonster.org) and saw this quite splendiferous S2R on there!

i saw the set of mirrors i want, they are (surprise surprise) Rizoma jobbies, the model is called 'logic'. but i also like the heat shield they have, looks damn tricky!

Rizoma does Rawk!! \m/ (picture fist with oposing fingers in the air). Any plans for the arse - just ordered me one of jennyMo's tail chop jobbies, even went out and bought me a new hacksaw for the festivities!!!! Oh and went onto devilplates and made a really pretentious number plate with raised carbon lettering and everything (and of course of a legal size - yeah right)

Paint? -
Phone here & ask for Andy
http://pages.eidosnet.co.uk/pitstopmotorcycle/index.html
and as for costs, if you were looking at a 748 front cone you'd be about right, tho if a 999/749 this would be rather pricey to purchase as not many around 'new', tho trackday ones are easy to get hold of (tho still not cheap)
A pukka paint job wont be cheap either :(

not really any plans for the arse-end. tho what that bloke did, with the single seat and the new carbon tea tray look damn cool!
thinking about the carbon tank you were talking about......... you think it would look cool if you kept it red, but instead of a white stripe, have a carbon stripe!

Andy is v v busy at the mo, but he does things from wheel straightening, to full custom paint jobs.
One of the bikes Andy took to the BMF this weekend was an 06 full carbon bike - with a fantastic paint job over the top - so the carbon weave stood through just like honeycombe (I even liked it - and I'm a known carbon hater! :D)
Phone Andy, and say you saw Charlotte's post on the monster club:thumbsup:

markus, tank - ching ching! looks the biz!
the single seat costs at least 350 quids in standard form (as in no paint), so yeah, Mr. Halifax will love me!
CK, beleive me, im in no rush at the mo, can only go as fast as my bank balance! lol and there are a few bits i want to get done before i tinker with anything like that. but i might mail him and see what he says!

He's just got back from the BMF Neil, and doesnt read his mails as often as he should.
If you call now, you might just get in before the end of the summer  but you'd at least have an idea of price in the meantime:)
