Tickover increases as bike gets hot

Hi all, Bit of advice please,

Bike( 95 M900) has only been used occasionally through the winter and I have just been out for the fisrst long ride this year. Engine seemed to be running fine but the tickover slowly climbed over a couple of hours reaching 1800 rpm instead of the 1100 rpm it started with !

Any ideas what is casuing this ?
