I miss riding on the road too much, so today I started to service my 600M myself (please don't laugh), hoping to put it back on the road in the next few weeks.

So I started by cleaning the carbs, went almost well until I noticed that one of the 2 "membrane" (sorry don't know the name in English) was cut in one place (see attached pix). Do I need to replace it (I would think so but have no idea of what it does... so maybe that's not that important). If so what's the cheapest way to source one?

Thanks in advance for your help. When the carbs are cleaned and fitted on the bike, then I'll change the belts. Lots of fun to come...

Yes Tonio. I'm afraid it needs replacing, it's the difference in pressure above and below it that opens the slide against the spring. The bike will run very rough otherwise. In english its called a diaphragm pronounced (di-af-ram)

Cheers Rob, much appreciated :)
Now let's try and source a cheap one...

you can try your usual ducati dealer, they might not be that expensive.
Failing that, there is a company specialised in Mikuni and Kehin spares..let me think..allen's performance.

Try your local Yamaha dealer - carbs are the same as used on TRX/TDM models
