Kylie had her 18k service today, once again her friendly mechanic Carl tinkered and tweaked her in all the right places, new plugs, air filter, belts, clearances checked and sorted, oiled and i think the only thing he didn't do was clean her - maybe next time?

If you're looking for great service and a quality service (huh - sounds right in my head i promise) then give Carl a call.

Harleston

I used to think it's the middle of nowhere, but now i realise Nonnie lives in the middle of nowhere, Harleston is actually a very twist hours ride from ipswich on the way to Nonnie's :D
He's italian specialist, fully trained and uses genuine parts and can even do stuff inside the 2 year warranty - should you not like the stealer prices. He was head mechanic at Chris Clarkes many years ago and is the guru of east anglia for all things Ducati. I've used him for the last 4 years or so, cannot fault him or his prices. :hail:

Stow mucket is a bit far for me to go for a service on Beelzebub I reckon. And as I don't have webbed feet I'd end up in a forest somewhere being hunted while Duelling banjo's played over loudspeakers in the trees!!

 :on:

stow mucket ? i said harleston, its north of stow mucket! The price compared to london servicing would probably be worth the trip tho but yes it is a bit far.

Best ring him as he's tucked away and i don't think 'between the esso and the tile shop' is really an address

Hey allow me to tell you a little story. Two weeks ago I needed to send a set of wheels to Aerocoat in Norfolk for powder coating. Adam [Aerocoat] tells me to remove the bearings, cush rubbers etc. After a day of trying and failing miserably to get those bastid little rubbers out, I call him back asking him if he knew someone who could help. He says, give this guy Carl a call, he's a really great bloke and together we'll sort it.

So...I call Carl. "No problem mate, send the wheel down to me, we'll get them out, and I'll take the wheel up to Aerocoat for you, as we have to pick up some work they're doing for us anyway".

How much did he want for this? Nothing...nada! I had to pesuade him into accepting something at least!

So...the wheel comes back to me from Aerocoat...beautiful job. I then take it in to suposidly one of the better bike shops in Perth, to get them to put the tyre on, balance it, and get them to fit a new set of cush rubbers. I get the wheel back, and they've driven the rubbers into the wheel as far as they'll go! Bollox...so they have to come out again and a new set fitted.

I phone Carl, as I remembered he said he kept the rubbers in stock, to order some more, initially with the intention of getting them sent up and having the Perth shop re-fit them. When on the phone, Carl asks me how the Perth place were planning on getting them out, as its not an easy job. All of a sudden I think, no...I don't want these muppets to do it, I'd much rather send the thing back down to Carl.

By the time I got to the Perth place, they'd already managed to chip some of the new paint work! I packaged up the wheel and posted it back down to Carl. I got a call at 10am this morning (from Carl), saying that he had recieved the wheel and that he noticed some of the paint had been chipped. Although no one would ever see it, he was going to touch it up anyway to prevent any corrosion...oh and the balancing was all wrong!

I get a call at 4pm this afternoon saying that they had finished, and that they were sending it back up this evening.

He's not exactly local, but I tell you, I'd more than happily pay postage to give my custom to Carl Harrison. He really is a bloody brilliant bloke and I can't recommend him highly enough

Another commendation to Carl's list... took my 750 to him this week for a belt service. Being a newbie to the scene Carl talked me through my bike and couldn't have been more helpful and knowledgeable... HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
