ok so there are a few threads on here now, and in the past im sure. but i have a bit of a predicament. i have an S2R, and 1000 quids at my disposal. im after an exhaust, but am like a stunned rabbit to the headlights of choice and variety of exhausts out there.

the reason this thread is a little different to the others, is that i am going to give the following information, in the hope some of you folks out there can help me desipher what exhaust would be best, or just to narrow the field a bit.

right, this is the following information perviously mentioned

i have around (as in maybe a bit more) £1000 to spend
i am not a knee down sorta rider, tho am getting better all the time
and because of the above fact. im not a trackday fiend.
i prefer twin stacked pipes over the hi-level (one either side of the seat) cans
i dont mind if they are carbon fibre, titanium, or aluminium. tho if i had a choice of the three, it would be carbon fibre.

many thanks my fellow monsterkateers!

McMonstro's cans this weekend were stunning, he put termi stickers on them but I think they were Sparky or somethink? Very neat and tidy, huge bore and Carbon too.

McMonstro's cans this weekend were stunning

And as Logyk pointed out, you could fit a ferret down the end of them, if you so wished....

Have to agree - they are very nice.

PD...where are your pipes from? They look superb! Are they custom built?

Indeed they are, one off's :D

Kylie's pipes are the loveliest...But McMonstro's are pretty darn stunning - and with the offer of a free ferret carrier what can you say???

neilbaldry
01-05-2006, 07:24 PM
ok ive sorta narrowed it down to 3 at the mo (providing someone dont show me more top looking cans!)

either the stacked termi's
or maybe arrow stacked cans?
or follow this link to see the other:

The zards are rather nifty looking I think - Arrow have a phenomenal sound though which I've heard - why not head to the open day at Parky's and see/hear what's around there??? Always useful to hear the things before you part with cash!!!

neilbaldry
01-05-2006, 07:43 PM
yeah ive heard from across the pond from american monster owners, that the Arrows sound totally sexual! the Zards look trick as buggery, but i have no idea what they cost here, or what they sound like!

tho i have also seen this offering from Akrapovic:

http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b208/neilbaldry/bikes/bikephoto2_hi-res.jpg

do you think that with 1000 quids (or maybe more) i could get a 748/996 conversion done? you know, just underseat cans?

benson
01-05-2006, 07:46 PM
Hmmm not sure about that one personally - the stacked exhausts look good in my opinion and if I had them I'd want to keep them as separate...Emily's Driver is after the Zards for his S4r testastretta - there's a downloadable clip somehwere I think on the forum of the sound!!!

meanwhile I'd go Arrow - tres tres loud...and that makes them safer!!!

don't forget to remove the cat aswell - an awful lot of noise gets lost in there.

Elmos £25 Beetle fantastics should have made your ears bleed

Now then.. i can get ya the dogs b*ll*cks cans that had everyone talkin at the weekender, even winning prizes. And all for £250.00:rolleyes:

Ask anyone on here about Elmos cans.

P.S. Cash only, at a car park of your choice.

benson, will the carbon monster clutch cover fit my S2R?? or is it just for the double swing arm models?! cos ducati manchester has the split racing cover and the full covers for under 55 quids! damn! you shouldntve told me about them!!

benson
01-05-2006, 09:27 PM
Best to check with them direct I reckon - I'm totally crap at knowing what fits (monsters!!!) and what doesn't! Spareshack would also know...They have a LOT of things to buy and there are a lot believe me!!!

Hi Roberto, Yes they do! The cans are made by SPARK, Italian of course, good quality and cheap too, sound like satan made them and yes they do set off car alarms! Nicknamed the "rodent catchers" by my mates and riding behind me is comparable to "being hit on the chest with a cricket bat" according to those who follow me! Can't vouch for this myself as I've only ever heard them while I've been on the bike!
I got them off e-bay (allways worth a look, especiallly the international sellers) from Desmoshop in France, however, I can't find them in a search on google now but I have found:

http://babelfish.altavista.com/babelfish/tr?doit=done&url=http://www.desmorados.com/shop/catalog/&lp=de_en

Which is the same site I think only in Germany! They don't seem to have much
listed for the S4RS at the mo but I'm sure a call or e-mail will help!
I think your bike has a sensor in the cat, unlike the S4R, which doesn't, and probably has bigger bore pipes and of course a different engine!
As far as systems for the S4RS that I know of, Logyk has a full termi system on his, V-nice! Emily's driver was trying to get a "Zard" system, but I think he may have gone for the termi's too, the only other S4RS owner I know of is Sidrat, who had stock kit on!
Stu at Spareshack is on the ball as far as whats avaliable so you could give him a call.

Hope this helps!

Sorry can't hear you !!!!!

Well, Sue has a Buell with a race pipe, and she can't hear her bike running if I'm following her.

I put the baffles back in for the Hampster run last weekend (thoughtful me), and it's still louder than Termis.:mand:

i like the low sparks exhausts, like on MCMONSTRO's. tho i also like the megaphone Sils. s its gonna be a tossup between them two! might email spareshack to see what i can get the carbon megaphone system for, and see how cheap i can get the sparks system for! - wheres the best place to look for a sparks system?

hmm! i was on the DML site the other day, and some swiss bird had pictures of her S2R with cans that looked exactly the same (they looked pretty good, but the back half of the bike looked like a speed triple).

i'd say from the vid, its the same bike as in the photos.

lol Rob, your worry is very touching! lol but fear not, for i (and you werent to know this as i didnt tell you!) live within the confines of RAF Marham. if anyone want to nick my bike, they have to get past many armed guards, and the 3000 odd people who work here....... and then you'll have me to get past!
