On a serious note to the usual banter on here, THE TRACK DAY.

I find it a great shame and a bit of a shock that even after the fact that all who attend the track days, give them all rave revues, that we cannot get 80 riders together to fill this one???
The track is now booked and therefore the cost for this day will have to be covered. At the moment it is not!
It was my 1st UKMOC trackday last year. I have done many trackdays on many tracks around the UK but always on sportsbikes. These multi bike events with 190mph superbikes and tales of daring do can be a bit intimidating if its your 1st time out.
The Monster only day was a whole new experience. With the support and guidance of the instructors and the fact that Mallory is not a horsepower track it became an involving and reassuring day.
The entire paddock is all riding the same bike so whatever the problem you may have, be it bike or rider related there is always someone to answer your questions and solve your problems. May not be the right answer but they all have a go!!??

I HAVE A PROPOSAL
As I understand it WE are 20 places short. I say "WE" as this is for us and not to fill the coffers.
If those of us that have paid were to put forward an extra £15 each this would reduce the deficit by £900 leaving only 12 place to fill to cover the costs, I have an idea for those too.
COME ON PEOPLE, PUT YOUR HANDS IN YOUR POCKETS AND SUPPORT YOUR DAY LEST IT SHOULD BE THE LAST!!!

I see a fairfew of you have read this thread but no replies!
Monster Owners CLUB is it?
Can I just add that if any of you lot who are going to Mallory and are able to find the paltry £15 extra to help things along would you leave a post on this thread so we could get a head and money count so we know who can pay the extra and how much can be raised.
Thankyou all.

Gee

Having never done one of these events and only spent test days at tracks flying on mates actual race bikes as a guest tester?????? Many, many years ago I would love to do this event, but for me and probably some of those amongst us it's just too far, too much or too risky.

My excuse if you can call it that is equipment ( I'm a jeans kinder guy ) and the thought of throwing my only ride home down the track, a sober thought which will also have an impact on my enjoyment on the day also being self financing in the employment market it has another effect as several of my insurance polices will also not cough up if I am found bouncing down a racing circuit unless I advise them accordingly and pay up a premium..........and thats a painful fact.

What looks like a great day for under £150.00 has now reached the dizzy heights £230.00 (for suitable boots and trousers personal risk insurance) without an overnight stay for the early start should I choose it.

As the wife says "that's a bleeding weeks holiday you said we could't afford"

However I might just go there just for the buzz if it's allowed and will be happy to make a contribution to the funds.

No lack of interest from us - its the lack of time & money.
We are racing at the 2 day superbike meeting at Castle Coombe at the w/end after, which involves us going there on Friday (the next day after the trackday) which is geographically a bit of a trot from Mallory. So regrettably from here,

1. Cant take more time off work
2. Cant afford more time off work
3. Cant afford either of the race bikes to possibly suffer probs/damage 48hrs before racing, and even if we didnt use them but the road bikes we would then have a real lack of time to change the contents of the van over in the early hours of Friday morning
4. Adds about £90 in fuel (van & bikes) + trackday cost to an already fraught schedule for the year

sorry, but not this time:(

will bve at the 2 dayer Ducati only at Cadwell in Aug tho:)

Hi Gee,

I don't have an ACU grade Crash Helmet as I ride with a flip-face and I would need to skin a whole Rhino to make a set of 1 piece lethers to fit me. But I come to Mallory each year to spectate, meet old friends and encourage people hooning around the track...I've booked a days holiday to come up again this year and agree that it's a real shame we couldn't get more UKMOC numbers, but then guess there are others in a similar position to my own.

I'm happy to pay £15.00 for the pleasure of coming up and meeting old friends, so count my £15.00 in and once you have a full headcount let me know who to send the cheque off to, if not to the Fatbloke General himself!

Just read the note, I am happy to pay an extra 15 if required or 30 if it avoids one individual having to cough up the shortfall.

Well done all. Looks like El Tel has filled the trackday.
Just out of interest, as there was the choice< does anybody know how the voting went?
Wanted to know if we were going to have to use that nasty new chicane or if they have left Gerrards well alone??

Don't care, as long as it's one or t'other rather than a shock after lunch!
