Question- How many miles to a empty tank on a S2R1000.

Answer 132 miles and just over 13 litres to fill it up. Shame about having to push the bike for half a mile to the petrol station.

Dohhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not bad at all, I got to 147 on my 620ie near Cadwell just a fortnight ago... special thanks go to the guy on the 900 Ninja who stopped, ran me a mile and a half to the petrol station in Horncastle I couldn't quite reach and then gave me a lift back with a can of fuel.

You're lucky I only got 124 miles out of my M1000ie before I had to push it. :o

Glad to see I am not the only one who goes to the extreme.

Honest....

I only get 95 miles out of mine on average but it does have my weight to lug about

I find I get about 150 on my 900ie - much improved since Rosso Corse played with it - in every respect...

120ish to the light if I'm being good, sub 100 if not but that is caning it!!

Could be worse, if I drive my car sensibly, I get 350 miles to the tank, if I drive it like I normally do I get less than 250..... It's only a 2 litre motor...22-23mpg...

FB, if you do it like me I am sure your mileage will go up..

Now someone did say recently I needed to do some exercise, does this count!!!!!!!

Ha. I get 160-170 and haven't needed to push yet. But I'm a small fella on a small 750. Not sure if the Keihins help or not though.

The 1000 has a plasticky tank which only hold 13 and a bit litres, the older bikes were all metal which I believe are 14 1/2. My wifes 620 tends to go to 150 without problems.

I am hoping as the engine breaks in it will reach a slightly better mileage, but the size of the tank don't help. If Ducati did a larger capacity tank I may be interested but it doesn't look like the metal tanks for fuel injected models will fit my S2R....Unless anyone know better.

Just means while I am having fun I will have to remember to stop for petrol when it says.

Or a bit before... my experience came after a good afternoon's thrashing(ooh-err), I took it easy once the light came on but was still unable to find petrol quickly enough in the sticks.

I sympathise having run out on the trike last night on the M25 :o

On the 900 solo I usually get 140 to reserve and at least another 30 miles at a push after that. The trike hit reserve at 120 and was empty at 143, exactly 1 mile short of the Thurrock services in Essex - bugger!

Most probable cause is the slightly lowered gearing, combined with more weight and wind resistance. Altough I also suspect it may be running a tad rich on the Ducati Performance ECU and air filter combo.

Ah well - live and learn

At least the RAC only took 20 mins to arrive with a jerry can ;)

the M1000ie we have does about 130 before the warning light comes on so you must e giving it some welly to empty the tank by a 124 miles? my s4 also does about 130 miles before reserve

I was getting 115 to reserve light before fitting the termis, open air box, cat eliminator, and power commander. Yesterday I got 98 miles. Worth every extra drop of fuel for the performance gain. If I'd have wanted 70 mpg I'd have got a BMW F650 GS. Oh, I did.:spin:

I only managed to get 12.48 litres of fuel in after running dry so as much as I'd love people to think I ride hard an fast I don't think it's that. My tank is the plastic tank which as sadbiker says is smaller than the metal tanks.

Perhaps your just a bit of a diesel wrist Shaun. :gay:

My warning light usually comes on between between 125 and 135. Trackdays get that down to about 95.
