Try moto rapido in winchester

They're Ducati specialists and they've got a dyno

Also a lot closer

That "pinking" noise is just the motor cooling, nothing to worry about.

As for dynos, there is a guy in Littlehampton but I can't recall his name or you could give Moto Rapido a shout in Winchester

hey ped , what about black & sooty, my knowledge of car engines says its running rich , or is it usual for the v-twin engine. cheers matey.

There is also a good place in Shoreham-by-sea (PM DRC - he knows the details, he's used them before)...

And also P&H in Crawley are offering a dyno run for £10 at the moment - but I presume that's just a check, not any setup/adjustment work...

The mixture does sound a little off. When the factory write the fueling maps they have to take into account noise and emmissions so it's a bit of a compromise. Leaning or richening the mixture can help with these regs. You're not the first to think the misture could be out.

It wouldn't hurt to get it checked

Have you made any changes to the airbox/filter or the exhaust?

Don't get your hopes up -for a proper EFi/fueling setup it could well cost you in the region of that for a couple of hours labour...

I think what P&H are offering is a basic dyno run and printout, to check the power/torque curve and any flatspots etc. The may do a mixture check too at the same time - best give them a call and find out what the deal is... 01293 413300

That Orange and Black S2R in Chichester wouldn't be my old bike would it, HX05 HYA. I had a Scott Oiler fitted to it which I took of it when I choped it in, there is a screw in in the inlet on the horizontal cylinder that may have come loose, I put Loctite on it but it could happen.
