I heard a rumour that Ducati no longer make gaskets for the engine covers of my bike, and instead there's some tube of magic gunk called...something like 'Instant Gasket'?
Anyone know where I can get some of this stuff...without having to wait 3 months to order from Ducati :banghead:
Cheers

You'll get some of that from any auto shop or halfords.
I dont think they'll stop making gaskets for your engine though, these will be pretty universal things, you can also get aftermarket ones from the catalogue suppliers like demontweeks or busters etc.
Give Ducati Glasgow a phone and ask for Harry,he'll tell you how long it'll take to get-he might even have them in stock!,and how much they'll be.
Ducati spares tend to be cheaper than japanese ones too.

What you want is Loctite Three Bond - also sold by Duke dealers. ABout £8 a tube but by far the best sealent I've ever used. Hermatite and the like just don't work as well.

Ped...if I can get actual gaskets though, would they be better than using a sealent?
Actually forget that...just called Ducati Glasgow and yeh, they no longer make gaskets for the older bikes. Loctite it is then.

I thought the engine side covers where fitted using liquid gasket from the factory and not a paper gasket anyway?

Hey thanks for that Chris...£29.99 though? Methinks I'll go with the £8 tube of Three Bond. Cheers though, really appreciate it.
