Cracked Lens

Anyone know how to replace a cracked speedo plastic lens on a 2002 Monster S4 speedo/rev counter assembly? I am told the units are sealed and the only way to repair the cracked lens is to replace the whole assembly at a cost of £300.

The speedo lens came off of Phoenix,s speedo, the housing was slightly bent, so I put a ring of clear silicone mastic on it. That has held for at least 8 months.

Thanks for the tip, my problem is the lens is cracked, I may have to glue it, but it will look crap!
