Could be rose joints, could be that your suspension linkages need lubrication.
If it is rose joints, you can get them from BSL for £15 each, rather than pay mr Ducai Dealer double that. Part number is JAM10.
Might be an idea to strip the rear suspension linkage down, grease it all, and reassemble, doesn't take long. There are needle roller bearings in the linkage points, they may be short of grease.

Just a thought, you've an S4 haven't you?? Doesn't actually have rose joints, they are part of the suspension hoop on the older bikes. In your case, probably the shock mounting points, bit of grease should solve it.

Been a fitter for many years and it depends on the manufacturer what he terms it.
Can be a rose end joint, swivel joint, or a ball end joint. But as you'vre got them now it dosn't really matter.
Long as you've got the part drawing the seller can work it out.:dizzy:

The search facility comes up with nada, and there is nothing resembling rod end bearings on the diagram they show. I have emailed them and await with baited breath...

Scotty try Swan Bearings at the valley and Force7 (seven)?bearings someware in gateshead I think also at the valley. They should both be cheaper. If you just quote the sizes they should be able to match it up no problem.
I've used Force Seven quite a few times, they do have rose joints/rod bearings and they're pretty helpful.

what a ball ache that was i do suspect one o rod ends was a slight rust colour to part of the ball part but has cleaned itself up a bit with a bit o wd40 and a load of twisting its stiffer than the other end i guess i should go n but a new one
major problem i had was it wouldnt go back together after 2 hours of trying everything ended up fileing a small amount off the bush (4)
but now thers no squeek just the stench of petrol ,what else could possibly go wrong ?
yeah force7 have used em a few times was the place i was going to try first

the joints do have grease points (which are virtually unreachable when fitted) if you give them a good grease they will most likely be fine, oiling and freeing them off is fine but they stick up again quite quickly if left without grease.
too much riding in salt and not cleaning her ay scotty

A degree of stiffness / rolling resistance is whats desired
TOO stiff, or TOO loose is telling you its knackered
Pumping new grease into them, gets rid of all the old grease, regrease every 6000 miles / 12 months
Stuart, at Spareshack has them

Really? Where was that from Pooh, we need another set for one of the DD bikes?
Zimbo
The two I bought came from BSL the same as yours, I will find the delivery note and check the part number and the exact price so you can go in and complain.
Ian
Another point is that a ball joint, rod end joint and rose joint are all the same thing, the first two are descriptive but the rose joint is the trade name for the joints produced by Rose Forgrove of Gainsborough who developed them for use on their packaging machines. Just a piece of useless information.
