View Full Version : Biker Down!

Just to let you know, S4MAD Martin had an argument with a car last week and him and his Yam 125 came off worst

To cap it all, it sounds like a rubbernecking car driver managed to run the bike over a second time cos he was too busy looking at Martin laying in the road :banghead:

His right leg took all the force and he has managed to push the ball joint right through his pelvis, he's now waiting for surgery to rebuild the joint.

I'm sure the whole club will want to wish him a speedy recovery, which as Didge pointed out will probably be just in time for winter again!

He's the lovely guy who fetched his equally lovely parents to take me to hospital last year. They told me they were happy to do it in the hope that if their son or daughter in law needed the same, they would get it. Sadly it seems not.

So sorry for you Martin. Buttercup must have had the fright of her life.

Get well soon. Thinking of you.

At the moment, he's in Epsom General awaiting a bed at St Georges in Tooting for the op.
I visited him yesterday and got some laughs out of him, tho' obviousley he's pi55ed off about missing the Weekender, and him & Carol having to cancel their trip to the States later this year.
Anyway, at least he seems ok (Morphine does that), except for the broken hip, and for that small mercy, let's all be thankful.

Really sorry to hear about Martin, I must have met him at the weekender but I can't put a face to the name either. Fingers crossed that his op is soon and goes well.

Its a shame he'll miss the weekender this year and the summer riding but it's better to miss one than all of them.

Please send get well wishes me too.

Will do Ian, yup he was at the 04 and 05 weekenders on a grey S4.

Not surprising you can't quite remember him tho', he's a quiet and unassuming bloke and easy to miss ......... unless you're driving a blue bimmer:dizzy:

The NHS has the power .... they can re-build him (probably not the Yam)

it's just gonna take some time!

I hope someone takes him in a laptop so he can stay tuned to the UKMOC forum ... it whiles away the hours!

Best wishes Martin an' keep your hands off those nurses! :p

Martin S4MAD gets to go home today ..... and with a bit of luck he'll be able to get down to Box Hill for the Megameet on sunday.
Better not be showing off his new titanium go faster plate tho' ... or the broken off drill bit that they left in there too!

Great! I can go around and annoy the bugger for a few hours. He won't be able to run from my botty vapours, so a very good victim to practice on, prior to the Weekender.:didge:

Didge - you are a cruel, cruel man.

Have just spoken to him on the phone, and he sounds so much happier now he's at home.
I've forwarned him of a home visit from me, and the fact that he is not in any position to make a run for it, and for some reason he then didn't sound quite so chipper.
