I remember a while back I had asked the forum about Rizoma clip-ons. Gary [T] posted back with a photo of a guy called Jay's bike. He wasn't sure if he still used the forum though.

Anyway...he had them on his bike. Maybe Gary will be along later have some more info.

Yes I have them fitted.
If I remember correctly it was just a plug and play unit apart from the oil pressure sensor had to have a wire removed and re-connected elsewhere.
What year of Monster do you have?
Mine is a 1998 600 and never had a rev counter before but it still worked.

Did they come with instructions?
I seem to rember I had a problem with mine and sent them back to Stuart and he sent me another set however it was a problem with the way I wired up the addtional wire.
I think it was for the oil pressure light though and not the rev counter.
I'll go and have a quick look at the bike.
As already said though you don't need an additional wiring harness as mine is a standard 600 dark that never had a rev counter before.
I don't think I would ahve paid £500 for them though.
I got them as part of the Cafe Racer kit hoever I think Stuart was selling them for £175 for a while.

Had a quick look at the bike.
There is a green wire going to one of the coils.
Not sure if this is for the rev counter.
I will try and find the instructions tomorrow.
If it dosen't work I would take it back for a refund.

The rev counter on most bikes/cars needs a pick up from the ignition coil,as speed increases so must the speed of the spark.
My guess would be to connect it to the low tension side off the coil(not the HT side, ie spark plug wire)
Do you have a wiring diagram at hand for your bike?
