stator removal

Does anyboy know of a good way to remove the stator from the engine casing, on a m900 ?
the case is off for replacement, but i cannot get the stator off. i removed the two bolts, but it still wont come off.

It's a pig isn't it? I tried when I painted the case but gave up in the end. I think there is a special puller.

no mention anywhere in the manuals.
i may end up sawing the case in half... it's knackered anyway.

i got it.
blow torch on the inside of the case to warm it up.
the stator then slips out easy.
