Hello,

I have for sale a private registration that would suit a Ducati, well, that's what it's coming off. It was purchased from DVLA when the bike was new and at the time cost £800.

Any sensible offers considered.

Drop the engine and repaint it, did mine about 3 weeks ago, have you had the plate valued? I would be very surprised id it worth anything like £800, my plate is M900 BAD and thats been valued at £400

Haven't got a clue what it's really worth but I agree £800 seems like a lot to pay. Did you do the paint work yourself?

yes I painted it myself and it came out really well, learnt a few things whilst doing it. If you are going to do it yourself let me know and can pass on what I learnt the hard way.

Nick

Would really appreciate any good tips, I'm not afraid to have a go at this kind of thing but the less problems the better!

Whip the engine out, thats a two man job, but if yours is a dry clutch model try and keep the engine upright, mine got tipped on its side and contaminated the clutch plates with engine oil. use some old spark plugs to bung the spark plug holes and some rags to bung the inlets and exhausts. I just painted over all my bolts and then replaced them with SS. Use a wire brush on a drill to lightly clean the engine up, brush it off with a paint brush and spray it. Mine got about six coats in total of manifold paint and its come out very well, be careful with the wire brush as you are dealing with a lot of soft metals. Remember to drain the engine oil before you remove it.
