Rear brake light wont come on

Afternoon all. My rear brake light has stopped working when i use the rear brake pedal. It still works with the front brake lever. Any suggestions? Cheers

Rear brake switch, dirty, loose or just knackered!

Check the wires, clean it! With your bike being so new it may just require a fiddle!!

Cheers Yorkie. Where would such a switch be located? I've had a look around and all i can see is the master brake cylinder and the pedal adjuster.

R/H side rearset, look at the back of the bracket, you should see the wires going into it!

Short the two wires going to the switch together if the light comes on it's the switch at fault or needs adjusting to open when he pedal is pressed.

Probably the switch, they're about £12 from a dealer, so don't go buying the second hand ones I keep seeing advertised on ebay for £20!!!

Well i just got back from a mates house. He took the foot peg unit and brake cylinder off and was expecting to find a spring operated affair like on his SP1, but was met with an inclosed unit. Basically he couldn't fix it. So i'll be back to the dealer tomorrow to order the part as i'm sure they wont have it. Thanks for the suggestions folks.
