I have been and continue to be impressed by this club. It is very informative and thanks to the many helpful members with loads of knowledge. I have been on a couple of other sites and they are nowhere near as active or friendly as on here.
There are occasional distractions, a bit of banter here and there, and even the occasional total irrelevence, but it takes all sorts, and that is what makes this site entertaining too. Keep it up everyone.
It's also great value for money (free) so well done to those who keep this thing running. Your commitment and effort is much appreciated.

Knowing what this forum can be like sometimes [although I must admit I think some of the banter on here is superb]...I'm not sure if your post is altogether entirely serious?

See, that's what this place does...anyway, for what it's worth: Six months ago I 'd never even sat on a bike. For as long as I can remember, I'd admired the beautiful design of the Monster from afar, never in a million years thinking that I'd ever own one.

Then came the internet. Instead of porn, I was drooling over the Ducati site, AutoTrader and of course eBay...ok, maybe a tiny bit of porn :look:

Then I found this site. Ever since, I have been asking question after question. Initially, things like showing photographs of close ups of the swingarms of bikes I was considering buying to get feedback on whether people thought the corrosion was worse than normal...to now, where I'm doing things like replacing coils, fitting new carbs, attempting to check valve clearances and generally going to work each day with a huge grin on my face.

All of this was made possible by this forum, and it's members who have been so willing to share their knowledge and their passion for these wonderful machines.

For that...I thank you

I 2nd that. I am currently servicing my bike and have also gone twin front discs. People here have been a great support and saved me lots of trouble. From knowing nothing, I have in 6 months learnt more about my bike than many other riders know about their bike. Thanks :ukm:

I said many...refering to all people who are 'on their own' and leave everything to dealers. I'm still way behind most people on this forum in terms of bike knowledge, more specifically Monster knowledge. But like everything, I reckon the first step to knowing anything is admitting knowing nothing...leaving FB well enlightened. ;)

.......but I know nothing compared to most people on here about bikes and really don't have the interest in that side. I like the riding and the people. Some of us like the 'nonsense' and if you don't, all you have to do is avoid the 'new posts' button and go straight to the other bits of the site.

Anyway, you win, so congratulations and all that.

Little Mo

One or two posts of sillyness are ok, but they were taking over the ramdom chat area.
The song title thread has run and run and is fine as its kept on ONE thread. Imagen if we had tones of them...

'Artist name thread...'
'Film title thread...'
'Street name thread....'
'Author name thread....'
'Pet names thread....'

It would get silly and not what we want he club to be about.

This club represents all of us and I for one am pleased its going to return to what it should be - which is a club for Ducati Monsters. Not a stage for people to show off, then get aggresive if asked to back off.

Ducati Uk use this site and i hardly think threads like 'Thinking of having a ****...' is really what should be linked to the club and its members.

Its a MOTORBIKE forum not a pub.

You say 'dont read it if you dont like it' Like you don't read the Sun or the Star. The difference is Sue - We have already chosen our newspaper which is the UKMOC when we open it we dont want it full of rubbish. If we wanted rubbish we would chose to log onto another forum like VISORSDOWN or such like. Which is the same as the Sun.

You can bet that the names in question wouldn't treat there companys or Boss like they treat this club or Terry. If they did they would expect to get the sack. Well thats happened and they only have them selfs to blame.
