It will make a differance and will look better if you like that sort of thing. I do personally as I think the basic monster needs accessorys. Anything over 80 and it gets blowy.

def a wind screen for long journeys, the higher the better. i done a straight run from fleet to troone last year stopping only for petrol and sarnies. the screen on my monster is low and my neck was sore for a week after. my last bike had slightly higher bars and a 'flip' screen - threw most of the wind over my head. made long journeys much easier.

Options:
1. Buy a genuine monster nose fairing / screen. If this doesn't provide enough wind protection, I believe Nattyboy has some high level screens to suit. Total cost - say £50 - £60, based on finding a good second hand one.

2. Buy an aftermarket screen. Try to get one that attaches to the bars rather than the headlight bracket, as the headlight is rubber mounted and the extra pressure from the wind on the screen causes the light to wobble around.
Cost - £30 to £40, try somewhere like busters.

Hey Naomi!

Did you end up getting a screen? I'll second all those suggestions that you get one for touring and motorway stuff - it makes a HUGE difference. I'll check out the brand of the one I have fitted (and am very happy with) - I think it's Secdem or perhaps Givi.

That ones not to bad on longish trips. Rather have an original Monster screen though. More shopping required :chuckle:

this is the only pic i have, hope you can see it alright! was taken at borough market meet....i got this screen from spareshack for my old monster 600 and then sprayed it black and whacked it on the 695...works a treat :) dont know how i lived without it!! i have to say, id be tempted to get another duke with farings for the same reason, but could never give up my monster

I use this one on my ol'600 when I go on trips/motorways. Very easy to fit and remove (just do not screw the bolds too tight or the screen will crack).

Also supplies with black fairings.....

Although for inna city commute I prefer the naked look more...hence no screen..
