Used a CP with AOL once when I was in the states. Utterly useless and full of pop up flashing things everywhere. Completely disorganised.
Uninstall and try again.
I know I'm not being helpful, but people really need to be warned.

I've come across this before but a few versions ago. If nothing's changed, there is no way to remove it through Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs, however if you look in the installation directory, open "my computer" and navigate to C:\Program Files\AOLx\ or similar, you will find something like
unistall.exe or remove.exe among the files there(you may not see ".exe" on the end, depending on your computer's settings) just double click that and follow the on-screen prompts.

Again if nothing's changed it asks you whether you want to keep existing stuff during the uninstall.
Open My Computer or Windows Explorer, from the Tools menu, choose options, click on the View Tab and untick hide file extensions for known file types and click OK. Now search C:\ for *.jpg this should show you the location of the most commonly used graphics format files, one of these folders will quite obviously be AOL user data... just copy those files to somewhere else before uninstalling AOL.
